Chicks with dicks... and co......

Well,

now to my little topic (of interest?)

My project within our group is Cybersex... Cyyyyybersexx... A dirty topic, but as I said, very human...

However, I became really interested. Such a never spoken of topic, whereas the statistics show, that every 5 (!!) interenet user (Forrester research) reguarly visits erotic sites on the internet. So why do we never talk about it? SUch a vareiety; many, single, outside, inside, men, women and everything in between. Looking at the site www.xtube.com in the wrong time of the day can cause you eating disorder or nightmares, but why do people never seem to get enough of it?
Will be back with some statistics...

Bye for now...

Ok.. Back on track...

Unfortunately I have missed a lacture, however I am back researching into online identity... What is that identity again, what is real? These were questions I was asking myself-ourselves recently. I am having a closer and closer look on Facebook. How people live their second lives on it... uploading pictures, and kind of voyeuring through otherr peoples lives.. Quite interesting... Myspace; maye not as interactive and as visual as Facebook, but definitely widely used. Myspace is more 'proffessional' one can hear peopel saying, indeed MySpace seems to be good for people that want their on-line identity and their real identies to cooperate. I mean publish their music, make publicity for their films. On My Space there even is the phenomenon of the "London Family". The London Family is a MySpace group, that has started to make a weekly party in a place called Hoxton Bar and Kitchen. The weekly party was called Boom Box.
(It was as it has finished in December, it got overcrowded and out of control)

Boom Box became a phenomenom on a worldwide scale. Becasue of its Fashion orientated appearance and its very edgy crowd, numerous magazines worldwide couldn't resist writing about it. It became the place to be, for people in the Fashion industry, photographers, designers and so called trendscouts... I think that this is another good example, how On-line identity/ On-line community became mixed with our 'real' world....

Suprisingly thin borders

Well as I said, sometimes we do get surprised, and it hits us harder than we sometimes expect.

Henry Conway, the son of an MP. No comment on the case. After all we also never know what is true what isn't. One I can say, personally I admire and respect Henry tremendously.

However, Henry seems to have had a very flamboyant, visual and outgoing life on facebook. However, it wasn't reflecting him, but it only reflected a certain side of his life. It was more like a theatre spectacle rather than his life. It was very often a partly a joke. Such as a 'F*****ck me I'm rich party' that only meant, come and lets spend out Christmas money from our Grandparents. However the bloodthirsty Media, invaded that space, and destroyed the border between the virtual reality of Facebook and the 'real' reality of our world. It became a horrible horrible misinterpreted witch haunt. Pictures, threads, posts, comments from the virtual space of Facebook became published in every newspaper in the UK!

Facebook became REAL, a theatre spectacle became reality, and.....

...the blood that was sheded in this case, became real blood, and not artificial blood sheded on the scene of the Facebook Theatre....

A rather painful surprise........

Again, WHAT IS REAL?

Bye for now...
Johnny

What is real, borders are getting blurred.... Part 1

I am working on the assignment again.....

We probably all lead our little lives on the internet. On tha pages of Facebook or MySpace we are trying to blow out our, sometimes, little lives on a worldwide scale..

By the way, are we all becoming mental exhibitionists?

Are we escaping reality by throwing ourselves into a different cyber reality? Why? Are we doing it only because we know that, although we are making ourselves believe that it is real, it will never really really become real. It will never jump out of that little computer screen, it will never free itself out of the tightly holding/gripping feelers of the world wide web... Hmm..

However, sometimes we all get suprised though...

Be patient and you will find out.....
Bye for now.....

Quiet creeps.......

I have been thinking....

It is difficult to believe, how many people live a second life on the internet. How many people through on-line communities, live a life that is so different, and so impossible for them to live in 'real' life. What is REAL by the way? I will get back to this later, maybe a little later, but I will...

I am happy that our group project is about on line communities, cyberspace, virtual life...... My area is; Cyber sex, Sex in the net. Well it might sound trivial and simple. It might sound so ordinary, but.... It is also so shockingly human. We would be surprised how many people have secret sex lifes and secret activities on the net. I do believe that the incomparably easy access and tremendously anonymous access to SEX on the internet has changed sexual behavior and the sexual pattern of the westernized human society, forever (?)

By for now...

Back to basics

We all thing we know all. We all think, of course, we do know the internet. Etc...

Well, the other day we actually put our very first html site. Unbelievable. It it unthinkable how from something such basic structures websites like for example http://www.michelepommier.com/ can be created.

It has made me proud how I looked on what I have accomplished in under 40 minutes. I believe, that always the beginnings are the most difficult, so once you get really started and know the basics it is easier to develop and exponentially increase your efficiency. In this case, you start making the simplest html code in the notepad, and there comes a website, slowly you work yourself up, and make more more advanced coding and there comes a more and more imressive outcome.

Thats it for now. Going back to play with notepad... :)

Q&A

Now everybody (if anybody at all is actually reading this :) ) is asking himself/herself, what for is that crazy little person actually writing all this. This is supposed to be education.

I believe the smartes way of education is actually to ask the question before you learn the answer. Thats why first comes question, then comes answer.

With all those choices, difficulties, never ending stream of information and data on the intrenet, it is all to easy to just loose yourself.. Here comes the hint. This is why I appreciate Mr Nigels course, he can show us, one of the most important and probably least knows wisdoms in the world wide w(eb)orld. He can show us how actually to use the Internet... Like all things in life, it is important how we use them and not what exactly we use.

Good old efficiency.

Bye for now, and thank you.

Hmmm..

I have been thinking.....

This funny little thing called internet.. Well actually this funny huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge thing called internet, the world wide web. We have gotten so used to it. I know people that swear they couldnt live without it. To us it seams small, we open the laptop (or telephone, or Iphone etc etc) and open a brownser... So easy... So amazingly easy. Then we start brownsing, and it is like the whole world opens towards us. we can either aim towards a certain target - like finding a new wife to buy in Thailand, or something pervert like watching a group of tourist been hitchhiked by Middle Eastern Terrorist, or even Paris Hilton in night time activities.. Well you know... It is so diverse, we can watch a live streeming of mass in the Vatican, participate in a political debate or watch a britney spears video. We can get, possibly all information in the world, sometimes faaaaaaar more than we would like to know, like seeing your girl/boy kissing somebody else on a party? :) However, with all those specified target, we can also get so lost in it. We can surf the internet for hours, without even realizing it. We can soak up a 1000 'pieces' of information without even remembering one single thing...

However, with all those difficulties and choiced in using the World Wide Web, once the internet is not working on the computer, life becomes soooooo difficult.

Bye for now...

Well, okay, I know, I haven't been good about the blogging.

Just setting back into the University schedule and the biggest problem. My internet connection at home broke down! Of course, an appointment with BT is more difficult to get than an appointment with the pope himself... SO I'm bound to try to work in the school library, where the wireless connection never works, and the computers are over crowded, or in the cafe next to my house, where they don't seem to have electricity plugs to charge a laptop... Ach ach ach...
Still its all good for now..
